Pensacola restaurants Carmen’s Lunch Bar, So Chopped reopen
Pensacola News Journal:
After closing temporarily last month, Carmen’s Lunch Bar at 407 S. Palafox St. will reopen Wednesday and resume its normal operating hours of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The restaurant was forced to close in February after suffering flooding caused by a Emerald Coast Utilities Authority maintenance project to the downtown water system.
“It’s going to be like we didn’t skip a beat, like nothing ever happened,” said Maricarmen Josephs, owner of the restaurant. “It will be the same cozy, intimate place that it was before with the same vibe, same atmosphere and same great food.”
So Chopped Salad Bar & Bistro, a restaurant next door to Carmen’s Lunch Bar, also sustained damage in the flooding. Rishy Studer, owner of the restaurant, said it reopened this past weekend. The Bodacious Brew, another restaurant next door owned by Studer, was flooded and will require several more weeks before it reopens.
